About this site The Familie von Berckefeldt maintains detailed genealogy records for all known life events (births, deaths, marriages, etc.) of our family members. These files are on computerized genealogy software and backed up periodically with copies of those files maintained at a different location. Should you wish to learn more about the family beyond what is posted on this site, contact Charles Templer at chartemp@aol.com. Please keep us informed of the news in your family units so that our files can be kept up to date. We presently know of several Berckefeldt births and deaths from around the United States that we have not yet identified and recorded in our files. If your family is one that has not kept us up to date, we would especially like to hear from you.
We would take this opportunity to recognize the efforts of several family members who were instrumental in researching the early family history. Among those are Carol (von Berckefeldt) Zundel and Betty (Berckefeldt) Doane whose early research in the 1960's led to further research and travel by Paul and Marie Berckefeldt in the 1970's. Paul and Marie travelled to Germany to meet family and obtain detailed information and documents about the early family. Since that time we have automated that information and updated it to the extent family members have shared in the life events (births, marriages, deaths, etc.) or our family members.
